Celebrate the anniversary of Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing, on July 22-23 at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum. Enjoy inflatable activities, science demonstrations, face painting, aeronautics activities, mini golf, a kids trivia competition, the Lima Area Concert Band, animals from the Toledo Zoo, and the Run to the Moon races (speedy-feet.com).
This year, Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin will visit the Armstrong Air & Space Museum on Saturday, July 22. Dr. Aldrin will address the runners prior to and immediately following the Run to the Moon. He will give a presentation and take questions at 2 pm. The USAF will provide a fly over Saturday at 10 during the event's opening ceremony. Jet Propulsion from PBS's Ready, Jet, Go will make rounds throughout the day Saturday.
